Working with Localis at the 2015 party conferences

After the success of Localis’ events at the three party conferences last year, we are now looking for partners to work with us at this year’s conference season. The election dust has now settled, so the party conference season looks set to be a golden opportunity to influence a new Parliament.

Why Localis?

All Localis events provide an opportunity for sponsors to contribute to a topical debate, and offer a number of tangible benefits including brand publicity, a speaking platform, and exposure to the key stakeholders related to their individual industries.

By sponsoring a Localis event, you can expect to:

  • Help shape an important public policy debate
  • Speak alongside leading national and local government figures
  • Network with key stakeholders
  • Feature in all our conference publicity materials

What to expect from us

If you were to choose to sponsor a Localis event, here’s what you can expect from us:

  • A track record of delivering interesting and successful events at all three conferences
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the public sector and public policy landscape
  • A network of political contacts
  • Regular updates and a dedicated conference contact

Our reputation

For more than a decade Localis has produced innovative research and events which has directly influenced government and opposition policy and the wider public debate, on topics including economic growth, planning and housing, infrastructure, commissioning, local government finance, and more.

Over the past year, more than a third of all local authorities in England have attended at least one of our events, almost always in the form of the Council Leader, Deputy Leader or Chief Executive. In addition our research has engaged with senior figures from more than two thirds of all English local authorities – and all but one London borough.

Localis at the 2014 party conferences

2014 was Localis’ seventh year at the party conferences, with several well attended events across the three main conferences. Speakers included Vince Cable, Bob Neill, John Denham, Roberta Blackman-Woods, John Redwood, John Denham and Clive Betts. Event topics included garden cities, county devolution and Fixed Odds Betting Terminals.

Event topics

Some of the key policy areas that we are interested in focusing on this year include:

  • Is the future of the NHS local?
  • Do we have the green light for developing the green belt?
  • Where next for infrastructure funding?
  • Is ‘generation rent’ here to stay?
  • What’s next for public service reform?
  • Time for a ‘Southern Powerhouse’?
  • What should the LA role in education be?
  • How do we bridge the national skills gap?
  • Are mayors for counties inevitable?
