Localis launched its latest pamphlet: ‘Making the Most of Public Land’, at the MIPIM Conference in Cannes.
The economic and political pressure for new housing continues to rise and, with government capital budgets slashed, public land is frequently cited as the answer. But it is essential that maximum all-round value is extracted for surplus public assets. This research is looking at how public land – of all sorts – could best be developed in order to meet immediate local needs and support a long-term vision for sustainable communities. We will shortly be launching a pamphlet and hosting a round table discussion to kick-start the debate.
