Author: Localis |
Localis, in association with Liberal Democrat Voice, hosted a debate which considered what the Liberal Democrat Party should offer on devolution in its 2015 General Election manifesto.
The debate, coming at a time when the major parties are fighting it out to gain the title of ‘most localist’, addressed and appraised the policy commitments already made by the Party; what needs to happen for them to be implemented; and, what further commitments should be made in the Party manifesto.
Panel speakers included:
- Stephen Williams MP, Minister for Communities
- Lord John Shipley OBE, Government Cities Advisor
- Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM, Leader of the Liberal Democrats London Assembly Group
- Tony Greenham, New Economics Foundation
The debate was chaired by Mary Reid OBE, an editor of Liberal Democrat Voice and former councillor in the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames, and took place in The Ideas Space, Clutha House, 10 Storey’s Gate, Westminster, SW1P 3AY.
