Localis chief executive, Alex Thomson, appeared on the BBC World Tonight programme this evening, making the case for localism and neighbourhood planning.
On speaking about giving communities more power and responsibility, we should “trust the people”. While a lack of community interest was more of ?symptom, not cause? after decades of centralisation.
On neighbourhood planning, he argued that it has “been hugely successful so far … it requires effort, but the payback is that you get real input into how your local area will develop in the coming years.”
