This panel speaking event will examine the current relationship between the NHS and local government, while asking the panel their views on how this might develop in the future. Key issues might include: What needs to happen to stimulate greater integration between health and social care? Will the current Government’s reforms result in wholesale shift in health practices? Is the end of top-down command and control really over? With speakers:

Power to the People ? Should localism be the core of the 2015 manifesto?, Tues 1st Oct, 18.00, Jury’s Inn Hotel, Manchester
With 2015 fast approaching, this panel speaking event will debate what the core issues of the next manifesto will be and whether localism, as one of the Conservative party’s flagship policies in 2010, should be at the heart of the debate in 2015. With speakers:
ú Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, Cities Minister and Financial Secretary to the Treasury
ú Cllr Sir Merrick Cockell, Chairman of the Local Government Association
In addition to our public events, we are also hosting a range of private roundtables at all three Party Conferences.
