Report launch | The Making of an Industrial Strategy, 22nd March
Industrial strategy report launch with keynote speech from BEIS Minister Nick Hurd MP
The government’s ambition to set a new economic direction will be underpinned by a more ambitious and activist industrial strategy than recent administrations have been prepared to adopt. Allied to this new approach is the view that our understanding of economic success must be deeper than measures such as GDP or employment statistics and focus on the local impact. The recent green paper provided the foundations of government’s modern industrial strategy, outlining its ten pillars such as improving infrastructure and skills.
Launching Localis’s report The Making of an Industrial Strategy, Minister of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, will deliver a keynote speech on the government’s emerging industrial strategy. The speech will be followed by a panel discussion with the minister and others debating the actions the government’s industrial strategy should take.
