Parties urged to act on care
Author: Local Government Chronicle |
The main political parties should commit to handing primary care trust commissioning responsibilities to local authorities as part of their election manifestos, LGC readers have suggested.
The proposal is part of LGC‘s Localist Manifesto, a project launched to work with local authorities to compile a set of election promises that would benefit councils and their communities.
Pledges to rethink the inspection regime to place more emphasis on local need and to reform transport planning systems are also among the suggestions from five prominent council chief executives.
