The Department of Health has published a new toolkit to help councils get local businesses involved with promoting public health.
The toolkit includes information on how to encourage staff to have a health check, promote physical activity and use less salt in catering.

The Department has developed the toolkit in conjunction with the Local Government Association (LGA) and Public Health England.

‘This toolkit will help councils and local employers look beyond the safety of their employees and start thinking about how they can play a role in helping them be more active, eat better and reduce their stress levels,’ the chairman of the LGA’s community wellbeing board, Cllr David Rogers.

‘We understand that businesses are under huge financial pressures at the moment, but hopefully we can work together to help create a happy, healthy workforce, helping to improve productivity and drive economic growth.’
